"I understand you want me to self injure?"

Respectfully, What the heck does that mean?  He said nothing about "self injure ???  He gave you an alternative.  A simple "no thanks" would have sufficed, or "I want the new imporved features, but I still need the shortcuts. "  We would have all respected that.

Maybe we are having a language barrier problem and misinterpreting you, or the other way around. Maybe you are not trying to be derrogatory in your replies, Maybe you aren´t being rude, but it comes across that way.  Your replies are very harsh, and over powering for the points you are trying to make...  It is like you are yelling at everyone who acknowledges you.  Or you give some smarta_s replie like   "Genniiioous". Again, "no I don´t wish to revert to a previous version just to get the short cuts working" would have been the appropriate response...  You would have stated your point and not offended anyone....   And most people would say, "I see his point..."

I would give you the benefit of the doubt, but people here did make an honest attempt to offer information and you slammed them.  This is a forum, a place to communicate with the community and get infomration, not just a customer service site.  It is our place to chime in... that´s what a forum is for.   Try being part of the community, or send your customer service request to the customer service mail address and wait for a reply.  There is nothing wrong with coming here and stating your problem, and you did that.  You don´t want to hear from the community, and that is OK too.  So now, wait until MD Staff responds.

I hope you get your problem fixed, really I do.  I understand it is important to you.

Now don´t take a single sentance out of context and make a defensive reply, based on a single point. Know that we all would like to see you get your problem corrected, and we all, you included, appreciate being treated with some respect.  We all just want to have an informative forum...   IF you do want to be a part of the forum community and get the benefit of having so many people who may have ideas (some work, some don´t) then just reply that you will wait for MD to respond and I thnk eveyone would support you on that decision.

I am pleasantly surprised about the Mac-beta available now. Well done guys!

But this thread is going a complete different direction than the title suggests. Maybe it´s an option for this non-Mac-version discussion to start a new thread?

I have downloaded my mac-version now and hope to try and use it soon. Any experiences yet?

For a start works fine for me :-)

Just observing ...

Good advertising might be considered being 'business-like' in approaching a problem (in context of posting for studio help with a beta)  .... daft advertising might be attaching ones ´brand´ to a poor approach, whilst dumping across the forum floor so spectacularly ... & simultaneously ranting promoting their 'monika' in posts !!! Perplexing how some studio's think brand promotion works?

You've got to wonder whether the tone of the recent posts is just a case of 'bad taste' or perhaps (when you strap your 'monika' proudly to them)  -  just 'bad taste', with professional style' (that's a referral to the artistic use of red font, size & colourful copy writing )... maybe there is no such thing as bad advertising any more and this studio's approach for assistance will work and that someone will throw a merciful life-line to their 'good-ship-lolly-pop' before they bust a professional rib (or  "...self injure" - << irony ) !!!  Christy, might well be turning efforts to those who show a little more grace ... and why not !

Anyway the enquiry for 'help' has been, slapping good, entertainment ... however as my eye scanned to the foot of every post, the image of the 'titanic' kept coming into mind as one tries to float their 'professional' brand ship to foreign shores ! Just a friendly observation.  ;-)

In the end I suppose you´ve got to smile & applaud the outright professional 'brass-ball's' bravery of 'it' in today´s interconnected world, where stuff sticks forever as it hoorang's across the internet ! Especially when clients do so much on-line research before ever approaching small businesses for work these days. Could be one hell of a 'web handshake' to pull up some of these posts when attached to ones brand ... such a Masochistic approach! <<< Hope that doesn't get lost in google translation as 'Machismo' ... might conjure up the wrong image!

... remember a good captain stays with their sinking ship (studio brand) until the last man is off ....  of course that is assuming they aren't standing alone, and if they are, ... and once over the hysteria, well then, I suppose it's okay to calmly scuttle one's studio's business !

I suppose one could always CTRL+ALT+DELETE and attempt a brand re-boot ! ... however I fear that boat's likely sailed, and not in character anyhow.

..."Think about it ".....   Outright bravery ...  what a hero !

I like the changes, esp. the new pressure thing :- ) that definitely separated MD from my usage of 3dsMax internal cloth (that I still use a lot).
Looking forward for quad output, I can wait ;- ). Once it hits shelves, we buy new professional licence for us in office. Who knows, we might go into some high-end furniture biz.

Lots of luck in development !

It´s perfect for furniture prototypes - particularly soft furnishings (easy to create many options and market test before manufacture) - it´s a no brainier. If you are using a CAD software look at Modo - as that takes solidworks files into mesh directly - and has a great render engine. Very good parametric pipeline for engineering development, marketing visualisation and tooling.
