I have two computers and I´ve downloaded the demo back to back, for 2 months...

I made 4 or 5 outfits for digital characters I´ve been sculpting, and I´d like to finish some of them and try and win one of the monthly licenses.

I´ve been totally pervin´ out about this software, its interactivity is really amazing...

So here´s the first thing I made in MD...

I do some concept sculpting, so I like to let a little story develop as I´m flushing out the character.

He´s some kind of wandering monk, for lack of getting into my flowery version of his backstory, and he´s got a big sword!

I modeled and rigged in Softimage, and Sculpted in Mudbox.

I´m still working on the sword / head / hands / straps on the back / hilt of the sword / sheath, and all the textures, but here´s a WIP!!

Here´s a like a pirate, or maybe alchemist cowman...

this is my simulation straight outta MD, I´ve got version that´s further along with bottles and gadgets where the stand-in cubes are, around his waist.

You´ll notice I forgot to export the rear strap for his manpurse, and now that my trial is over, I guess I can´t get it.  I´ll throw something in later.

It´s a shame you didn´t post your entry into the gallery a few days earlier. You would have gotten into the December  contest instead.

There are a lot of nice details there. I like that sloppy stitching.

Splendid concept pieces!  Definitely high quality designs!

This are definitely worth of getting one of the prizes.

As a question: are the rope knots also MD? I've been attempting such for some of my Chinese outfits, but having a bit of trouble making them look right at that proportionate size.  Large one work, but the thinner the rope, the harder it gets.

Thanks Rosemaryr

No the ropes are not MD, or the knots.  Not for lack of trying though.  I used an elastic line and an extra strip of tight material, which was deleted and then poly-modeled the ropes manually.

Each chunk of the knot is a separate piece.

Very clever modeling indeed for the rope ;o)

Overall a splendid creation

As I said, most excellent work!

and

thank you for showing us that you need the whole enchilada to get something done, and not only MD. Sometimes I despair over all this discussions with an eye to MD only, when there are so much other interesting things to talk about. Especially when 50% of the tutorials has no relevance because what they show is more easily done in 3D.

Actually I was speaking of Poser/Game developers. But the more I think about it I predict that the fashion designers that think they can make out without a modelling tool and ZBrush/Mudbox are in for a rude awakening too.

hi i wanna try MD with softimage, i will be appreciate if you share any technical information, well is there any step by step solution for doing this?

i wanna import my own character in md and do the simulation thing and then export the cloth back to xsi. i find out that  it has .dae (collada) avatar in CLO 3D 2011-Model-Avatar-Sizing as asian avatar and it open directly with softimage, it´s a 10 meg file, but after i export it back for test with softimage 2012 (collada 1.4.1) xsi increase it´s size to 30 meg so

is it correct that i export my characters as avatar to clo3d and export a simulated cloth back to xsi as pc2 and obj?

or i did the whole thing wrong, dose it eve  possible to doing simulation in md and translated it to xsi? thank you

i am ok, you are ok
