Some softwares cannot extract the texture file path that includes the space like "blue silkl.jpg" in the mtl file above.

Changing the path will solve this problem.

@polyphobia which software did you get this problem in?

MarvelousDesigner 2.5.2, i just open the demo file and export the resuling cloth shape, when i export the rest of the character as well it just expands the resulting obj by the materials of the other parts of the character.

Tested on Win7 64 and Vista64 with both the 32bit and the 64bit version of marvelous designer.

if it still doesn't work try and put the blue silk.jpg in the same folder were the MTL is at

or in the MTL put the path name like C:\blue silk.jpg

OR C:\bluesilk.jpg

The thing you can try is adding a space in the name in your other app and export it and see if it still shows a space like

blue silk.jpg or does it show bluesilk.jpg

another thing is i dont think you would have a problem besides the 2 \\ if it would make a back up copy of the texture and place it in the same folder were you save the OBJ at or pac

http://www.marvelousdesigner.com/Forum/Content.aspx?ForumNo=7&ThreadNo=31&title=save-pac-texture-copy

another thing,

i have exported a OBJ and then  imported it into another app and some times it doesn't show up at all, this does not mean it doesn't show up because the scale is to small because in my other app it doesn't show any thing in the scene tree,

to small or to large it should show, is your OBJ showing up at all?

im not sure but when your in simulate mode and you export is it really exporting it all the way?

once you simulate and then export ,then simulate should shut off before export because it lags the computer

Ok first of all thanks for the input, secondly now i know whats going wrong here, the thread title is entirely wrong, i've been understood totally wrong.

the thread tilte should be "Problem when exporting OBJ from Marvelous Designer 2.5.2"

The textsample from the "MTL" file isn't from importing a file into Marvelous Designer from any other source, i don't care about Poser, Daz or anything like that, the problem occurs when EXPORTING FROM Marvelous Designer to .OBJ it seems like the latest version doesn't export to obj at all, what it does instead is writing the .MTL data into the newly generated object, fixing the text won't help me at all as i don't care about the material, i want the mesh data out of Marvelous Designer, get it into any other 3d app, such as zbrush for instance, to test how good it works with Retopo and reprojection of the details.

Some images to show what i am doing

Hmm.. it is a really strange problem. Here we have no problem when follows as what  you did (like the link).

Could you try again with a new pattern file, not the default one? If you still get the same problem, please send us your hardware and os specs because it can be due to the os language problem.  please follow http://sketchup.google.com/support/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=36253.  Save the information as .txt file (you can find the button next to close or exit button) and send it to us at support@MarvelousDesigner.com

mine messed up like yours a while back,

what fixed it was exporting all of it not just the cloth,

another thing that would NOT fix it was over writing the same file name.

make a new pattern and export all of it with a NEW name,

if it works then try exporting the cloth only with a new name and dont over write any other file names.

i tested a .PAC some one uploaded here that was corrupted

i then over written the same .pac with a new pattern and sure enough it the new pattern is all so corrupted ,

so i would bet its doing the same when you try over writing a .OBJ with the same name
