Hello :)

as i wrote in the News thread about what i don´t like, i thought i write it here more clear and with a new topic, cause i think my answer in the News thread is only one under many and can get lost.

When one buys the Personal license there is a contract both parts have to keep.

The point is that the license includes a part of an adhesion contract that is not acceptable in any way at all.

Adobe don´t tell me to sell pictures only at their store.

E-on software don´t tell me to sell only at their store.

Poser not, DAZ3d not, Ulead not, Corel not .... do i really have to write this list to becoming endless?

But Marvelous Designer Personal license buyer are not allowed to sell anywhere else than here.

That´s an adhesion contract!

And Marvelous Designer . com is breaking the contract, cause we can´t sell anywhere, even not here!

No one is able to sell cause the store still isn´t up for sale.

And it´s nowhere written how much Marvelous Designer will take in fee for selling our products.

Or if there will be no fee at all.

Not one single word about this.

I wanna know if you´re planing to earn double with a) selling the program and b) taking a fee.

Next point. is the problem with activation.

We haven´t got a serial number with a stupid explanation: It could be given away.

Poser, Photoshop, DAZ3d, e-on software and many other selling their programs with a serial number.

So why can´t Marvelous Designer then?

And i wanna have a serial, cause i wanna run the program on my Laptop that shall never be connected to the internet, only if it´s really necessary (registration of programs).

Do you see in every buyer a potential criminal?

I think Marvelous Designer is interested in many sales of their program, it´s just logical.

But with a bad buzz marketing the sales will stagnate.

Satisfied customers are talking and recommend others to buy.

I did it cause i was excited (and still am) about the program.

So i think it would be a good way to change the license in a small part and make it possible for buyers of the Personal License to sell at other 3d stores too.

Not for big money, i could understand this, but maybe with the restriction not to sell any product over $5

And give us a serial number so we can activate our bought program at any day without any waiting time (weekend, holidays) if something went wrong (stupid "it´s activated on another machine", even though it´s not).

I really would like to get a satisfying answer how you think this can be handled so both parts, you and the buyers, can be happy with.

I really like Marvelous Designer, have never seen any program that fits my needs for creating 3d clothes more than this.

And i don´t wanna end up looking at this program and thinking: "What a wasted amount of money.", cause i´m not able to even get the money in again i paid for it.

Sincerely

Freya

Well, I have agree with everything said here.

My Mom purchased a personal license some time ago, but we had a hard drive crash recently and MD is the only software I haven´t bothered to re-install.  Just too much hassle, for too little benefit (can´t do anything with a Personal license) and I have no intention of jumping through all the hoops required to get this software working simply because I had to change my hard drive.

Perhaps someone around here cares why they lose customers.

Hoops? What hoops?

All you had to do is either email them, or post a request here. they will deactivate your old license for you.

No more difficult than the time you just spent posting a message here.

Sorry, Tom, but those are hoops I´m forced to jump through.  I had to re-install all of my software, yet no other company makes me do this but MD.

It´s just a line I´ve decided not to cross.  It´s simply not worth my time, despite your opinion that it is.

I just thought someone might be interested in why they lose customers.

But that´s the point Tom.

We have to wait sometimes, cause even Marvelous Designer developers and supporter need to sleep, have a day free or what ever.

The ridiculous behavior is scaring away possible customers and not making more customers, that´s for sure.

I´m very interested what answer they will give me and all others, silently reading but not writing but pretty sure agreed with every single word i wrote.

yet no other company makes me do this but MD.

Maybe no other company that you know of.

But I have several programs that I own that are tied to my hardware.

I just recently had to email one of them to get a new code, because I had changed my hard drive.

I have another program that is tied to a flash drive.

And others that are tied to dongles.

At least with Marvelous Designer, you can easily deactivate the software, and use it somewhere else.

It is true, that if you have a crash, and can no longer access the program, you can´t do that.

It can be a little frustrating to have to wait for them to reactivate it, but it´s not a big deal.

Granted it´s not as easy as the way some software handles it, but it´s also not as difficult as others.

I just don´t see how it´s such a big deal.  If you are so stubborn that you refuse to even send an email to activate your program, I don´t see how you can even get anything done in life. Most things are a lot harder than that.

Even Adobe allows to us Photoshop on 3 machines. If you wanna use it on a new one, well then you have to de-activate from one of the first 3.

And to talk about stubborn, if MD wouldn´t be that stubborn not to give a serial number to the buyers of a license this problem would just not exist.

And sorry to say it that clear, but this:

>>If you are so stubborn that you refuse to even send an email to activate your program, I don´t see how you can even get anything done in life.<<

is an insult in my eyes and not in need at all.

Ok, i have to admit that Glitterati can talk for herself, but if i see something i don´t like i point at it at once.

It´s not meant as an insult, just an observation.

they already spent more effort to complain about the situation, than to fix it.

One email, or one message, is all it takes to fix.

I do agree. it can be frustrating.  it would be good if they had some sort of online deactivation.

At least thanks for your understanding in this point :)

Tom, I came here for one purpose - to let the company know why I will no longer be using their software.

Period.

Simple purpose.

I doubt they care, but I also doubt I´m the only person who feels this way.

Unsatisfied customers do nothing to spread the word about the product - unless it´s negative, of course.

Works for me.  Obviously, it works for this company as well.  They show little concern for the issues their customer base experiences.

I can see that.

Interesting how you´ve never posted here before.

You never asked for help. Or offered any.

Never participated in any way.

They show little concern for the issues their customer base experiences.

I´ve seen many people state the exact opposite.
