i see, ok. i´m totally new at this kind of software but need to use it by force.
i thought it was just  a problem of mine at daz studio, anyways, i noticed there is another file exported with .obj, it´s .mtl, i´m trying to figure out how to make it work on daz, as i search i found thiis could be the textures missing,
if i can´t reach what i need in daz. which other program could u recommend me to render?

yes, an obj file is accompanied by a mtl file.

I figured out the fix. If the textures are missing.

go up to view - tabs - surfaces

Select the different surfaces, if there are more than one. Then under color diffuse, select the texture map for that surface.

That´s odd. it seems not to like it if the texture is in the same folder as the rest of the files. when I used textures from other folders, daz imported the object with textures just fine.

i tried what you told me. but it just works for a unique texture in a cloth, i have several textures in one cloth, that´s my problem. other thing i could do is to export  from MD piece by piece, but it´s an annoying work!
i don´t know what´s wrong. i´ve already tried, puttin all textures in one folder, and importing from there my .obj file but it stils doesnt work. have to try other ways

i didn´t find the solution to this, but i figure out the way to export my cloth in diferents pieces all in one. i think i´ll survive with al l this. thank u for ur help! if i ahve more doubts i´ll post them

If you applied more than one texture in marvelous designer, you should have more than one material show up in daz.

If you´ll notice in the previous image. I have two materials, because I had two different textures applied.

here, each pattern has a different texture, so each showed up as a separate surface.

No textures either on import into DAZ 4. Could be a partner issue - at the end of the day, DAZ has partnered up with Optitex .... so is MD2 sitting out in the cold with getting updates through with Daz - feels like a biz-nez squeeeze !!

Hi Angel :-)

I like your new "logo" .

Strange coincidence : Yesterday I clicked on this very old post.

The "Veterans" (I mean the first days´ members) wrote great tutorials.

Sometimes I think that I´m finding new discoveries about Marvelous Designer, but those pioneers found them a long time ago.

I was thinking to a kind of manual containing a compilation of the best posts published in this forum since its creation.

So many useful tips to find there, but sometimes so difficult to find out.

If it isn´t a bug relative to the last MD2´s update, I may write that a solution to the textures´ issue with Daz  was explained several times by Tom.

I´ll try to find one of Tom´s posts about that.

Nice coincidence today :-)

Cheers for that, I didn´t probe under the hood - too busy on the next range.

I am still curious about the DAZ MD2 relationship - has it stalled? Or is it a matter of waiting to see Studio 4 pop out the toaster with their SDK. Either way optitex appears to be cementing their foothold with both DAZ and POSER. Optitex is heavily reliant on DAZ as the presentation tool for their CAD front end. So DAZ must be getting some hefty fees from a partnership deal - it appears two way, maybe that´s part of the relationship!

From experience, if MD2 want to crash the party they will need to better the deal long term ... in the eyes of DAZ that might mean a superior featured product (MD2) & a development team who are forward thinking. Growing the user content potential - ... which might actually spell a crash of virtual clothing pricing as it becomes easier to generate for genesis. Perhaps DAZ are trialling MD2 on a few tests with DAZ - I noticed a few triangular genesis mesh clothes that looked as if generated from MD2 ...  curious.

IMHO I think DAZ need MD2 more than they need optitex, if optitex ceases to have DAZ as part of their workflow their product could be impacted as presentation is now a great part of the process, however if they focused in on MD2 they could open out the context of the virtual clothing market by not being locked into optitex - maybe they are hanging onto old contracts ....
