Hi!

I´m working on a pair of jeans. I´ve gotten them working quite well, with a waistband and belt loops. However, when I try to fit a belt in there, the loops won´t keep it in there. It slides past the loops and ends up around the avatar´s waist above the waistband of the jeans.

I´ve set the jeans to layer 0, the loops to 2 so they stay above (They are sown to the waistband and rest of the jeans as they should be), then I´ve set the belt to layer 1.

Is there anything else I can do to attach the belt properly around the waist?

Thanks!

Hmm, is the belt facing outwards? If it faces inwards, then it would try to get "behind" the belt loops by going outwards. Try flipping the belt or not using layers altogether. If that does not solve it, then perhaps the belt loops´ low polygon number is causing interpenetration? How about a lower particle distance and higher thickness (simulation) for the belt loops? A less elegant solution might be sewing the belt to the belt loops or the waistband.

Hmm... I will test the poly count, skipping layers and sowing. Flipping the belt may turn the normals the wrong way which may not be so good since I export it for use in Poser later. :)

Also, you may wish to set both the pants and the belt to the same layer:  If one is ´above´ the other, MD *will* try to move it there: and the belt will go outside/over the belt-loops.

I tried this too!

The problem is that real belt loops are partly under the belt and partly over - it´s a loop virtually.  In the the end I made my loops out of 3 parts - 2 under parts (layer 1) and an over part (layer3) the belt sits at layer 2.  Once one is made you can copy it around the jeans top.

Next time I may cheat and just sew the belt and loops together.
