Hi everyone. I was recently interviewed and my work was featured in 3D Art Direct Magazine issue 18. The  focus of the magazine is Sci-fi and Fantasy art and the magazine is filled with really good articles and tutorials for artists of all skill levels.   They had no idea what Marvelous Designer 2 was so I educated them and was able to put in a good word for our favorite 3D software and the awesome MD2 team that keeps making it better and better!  If you would like to view the article, take a peek here:

Be sure to check out Page 29.  The interviewer specifically asked me about Marvelous Designer! hehe  Yay! :)

Congratulations on your interview.

I totally agree with your comments about lighting. I don´t know about Poser, but Daz is bad about that. The default setup has no real lights. Just a headlight on the camera. And no shadows.   It has a good renderer, but it needs to be set up properly to get the most out of it.

Hi Suzi :-)

I read your interview from the beginning to the end.

Very good questions asked by 3D Art Direct Magazine.

I am impressed by your sincere and authentic answers.

Your three tips for would-be artists starting out on the Poser journey :

- Quality not quantity.

- Pay attention to lighting.

- Study the art around you.

Those nice three tips reflect a part of your artistic personality.

To all that, I would like to add your passion for 3D art, your natural talent, your modesty, your courage and hard work.

It is very kind of you to name your sources of inspiration.

You have a superb gallery at www.passsiontales.com : you create wonderful wings for your mythical characters.

( By the way, Poser 9 is on sale through July 1,2012 on Cornucopia Store : http://www.cornucopia3d.com/purchase.php?item_id=10961&from=Sale&page=20 )

3D Art Direct is a great little magazine and the digital version is totally free.  Lots of good info for 3D artists.  If your interested you can subscribe  here: http://3dartdirect.com/about/

@Rosmaryr- Thank you!  I just could not pass up the opportunity to promote our favorite app.  I´m hoping we will get some more users interested. hehe  Yay! :)

@Tom - Thanks Tom!  I totally agree.  Poser does a great job of replicating real world lighting.  It´s just a matter of working with the lights to get the look your going for.  It takes a bit of getting used to, but once you do, the results can be quite realistic. :)

@ Marcus -  Thank you! :)  I appreciate your kind comments.  I´m so glad you enjoyed my little interview.  I was a bit nervous as it was my very first feature in a magazine. ~faint~ hehe   Thank you for the link for Poser 9.  It´s also on sale at Smith Micro http://store.smithmicro.com/productdetails.aspx?id=20591&sgid=858 for $64.99 (regularly $249.99) until June 24th.  Yay!  That is such a great deal.  The new features are very impressive.

Hi Suzi :-)

Yes, I really enjoyed your interview. Your artistic experience is very motivating.

A big thank you for the link to that very very interesting Poser 9´s promotion at Smith Micro.

I couldn´t wait anymore. I just purchased it, because such price is unbeatable (60 euros, taxes included).

Awesome Marcus!  I´m glad you took advantage of the deal.  Poser is a great little app and we will all benefit with your great experiments. hehe  Let us know what you think of the product.  I would be interested in hearing your opinion. Yay! :)

@Marcus -  your new Poser 9 app should have all the updates included.  However, if it does not you can find them here http://poser.smithmicro.com/updates.html

After you load the app, look at the bottom of your splash screen and the version number should read 9.0.2.21561  That would mean that you have all of the updates.  There have been 3 so far.  SR1, SR2 And SR2.1.  :)

Hi Suzi :-)

Thank you for this important information.

This is very useful to know.

I'll surely try many experiments with Poser 9 (your so kind comment about that).

Rosemary and Zardok showed nice experiments with Poser´s fur.

(My high-speed connection is very busy with these big files to download)
