It’s official: introducing the new logo for Marvelous Designer!

The Marvelous Designer logo has experienced several updates since its initial launch to modernize its appearance in line with functional advancements and reflect the product's identity.

A significant transformation occurred in 2019 from the original logo, resulting in the recognizable cube-shaped design.

In 2023, we solidified the new Marvelous Designer logo with a new identity and direction that we are actively steering forward.

We’d like to tell you more about how the new logo was developed and why we made the update.

Behind our logo makeover

What was the reason for the logo rebranding?

We started to recognize that the time was right for us to demonstrate that we have a bigger value to our users while keeping the essence of our offering.

While our previous brand identity centered on “3D garment simulation”,

the new logo adds diversity and depth to highlight a new vision for the software - a boundary-breaking creation tool.

Through this rebranding, we aim to present not just a simple change but to communicate the direction and values of Marvelous Designer.

The new logo for Marvelous Designer, ‘Marvelous Strip’ takes inspiration from ‘Möbius strip’, visualizing the concept ‘Boundary Breaking Garment’ that dissolves boundaries with our users.

This represents the simultaneous coexistence of our users and us, the beginning and end, the front and back, the inside and outside of the fabric.

By doing so, it goes beyond breaking the fixed notions of creators, showcasing the diverse possibilities where Marvelous Designer's technology can be utilized.

As an example of the diverse possibilities, Marvelous Designer can be utilized as a creation tool not only for garment production but also for various purposes such as accessories, vinyl, and even things like fish. This signifies that Marvelous Designer can be applied in a broader range of industries beyond the gaming, VFX, animation, and film sectors, including fashion, content creation, art, architecture, interior design, manufacturing, education, and the metaverse industry.

In line with our primary objectives, we will strive to enhance features that are most widely needed for our users to support the seamless workflow in the gaming, VFX, and animation fields.

Introducing a new release name with the new logo 

In November 2023, there was an update to version 12.2, which included new features, particularly beneficial for game development production, and received positive feedback from our user community!

Now, you might be curious about when the release of the next major version is planned and what interesting features it will include. Let me address each of your curiosities.

Firstly, the release of the major version is scheduled for 2024.

Additionally, this new version will be introduced with a refreshed version name.

Until now, Marvelous Designer versions were sequentially numbered behind the name "Marvelous Designer.”

However, starting from 2024, the versioning will utilize the release year as part of the version name, making it easier for users to identify the progressively enhanced Marvelous Designer each year.

In Marvelous Designer 2024, you can expect to see new features focused on Production Optimization.

That will include the introduction of automatic retopology, improvements to patch retopology, animation video capture functionality, Unreal Engine Plug-in, and more!
